THANK YOU HQMA, you did a wonderful job with the GRANDS. I cannot imagine how much work you all went through to make this come together. You did it and you should all be proud. We are very greatful to have had the pleasure of participating in this event. You did wonders with your facility before the Grands and never stopped all the way through. Give your selves a big pat on the back. Also, we give a big THANK YOU to all of the Sponsors and to Mr. Jimmy C. Wall for this event, every bit counts and you all did your part.

To HQMA and Reg 3. Great job at the grands, great track, great weather, great fun. To all that worked long and hard hours during the grands and the time leading up to it. KUDOs to you all!!!! For those that are complaining, I will use what my Grandpa told me years ago," If you are going to speak, make sure it is worth saying cause someone just might be listening". With that being said, Austin and I would like to thank each and every person that has ever helped us and not expected something in return. We have met some people we will call friends for live. We have truly enjoyed the good times and learned from the bad times. God Bless you all. Keith and Austin Jackson Splinter Racing.

Kudos to HQMA, they did a great job with the track and everything else. NOT so with the QMA folks.....I am not involved in the sport anymore, but I would have thought that QMA could have done a better job of concealing their bias toward certain chassis and vendors, as well as EQUAL enforcement of the rules. The cost of tires will be the death of a great family sport if QMA doesnt do something about it. There needs to be a spec tire that will last several races at a reasonable price. I believe this will also reduce the number of flips due to bicycling. I also believe that the claimer rule for the Honda engines needs to be brought back, I talked to several handlers who had spent over $2000 for a competitive "spec" Honda that can be purchased for far less off the shelf. Money almost killed the Quarter Midgets once, when the Continentals sold for upwards of 5 grand. Lets hope that QMA wakes up and smells the stench of a great sport being choked to death by the almighty dollar. The Grands flagging was inconsistent at best, and seemed to confuse many of the drivers. I also saw the flagman delay restarts to give SOME racers time to make repairs and re-enter, while other restarts were made before cars could make minor repairs. I guess it was who you knew determining the length of a caution period. Sad. Anyways, again a high-five to HQMA for a great event, they did their part almost flawlessly. I cant wait till my Grandkids are old enough to compete, IF I can afford the engine and tire bills!

Nelson,
I talked with you on the phone a few days ago about the Downs show, and then me and a couple of friends drove to Huntsville Saturday and observed from about noon until about 3:00 PM. I thought the show was outstanding and am greatly impressed with the facility. My only complaint was that I thought that the Flag Man was lacking in confidence and tended to run to many unnecessary caution laps, and he tried to tell them to bunch up when they were already bunched up. I think that that effort tended to be confusing to the drivers. USAC is probably looking for him, as they always do the same thing at ORP.
Congratulations on a job well done. We’ll try and get back for a regular show later.
